Director Cornel Todea stages a new version of Pinocchio, set designer Viaceslav Vutcariov, with a new team, compared to the previous performances of the same play.
Ani Creţu, a young actress, has an outstanding performance as Pinocchio. The same autumn, Pinocchio receives the National Award for Theatre for Children, granted by the Ministry of Culture.
The performance De-aş fi Scufiţa Roşie (If I were Little Red Riding Hood) by Ioan Gârmacea, directed by Sorana Coroamă Stanca, set designer Anca Pâslaru, receives the Award for Best Theatre Performance for Children, granted by the jury of the 19th edition of the Theatre Festival, in Piatra-Neamţ.
Ion Creangă Theatre becomes member of EPICENTRE, a Zagreb-based network, promoting the professional theatres and actors in the Central and South-East European region.
Harap Alb makes a come back on the stage of Ion Creanga Theatre, in a stage version that, beyond its cultural and artistic significance, represents a tribute to all pioneers that brought to life the characters and adventures of Creanga's tale 40 years ago. The famous author is the patron of the “largest theatre in 13 Amzei Square”, officially stated on 4 May 1965.

15 March - starts the tour in Cyprus, at PA.SY.D.Y Theatre, with the performance Theatre sans animaux, by Jean Michel Ribes, directed by Cornel Todea. The show was performed in Nicosia, Cyprus, during the Francophone Week held by the French Cultural Institute in this country. Another performance of this show took place on 19 March, at Rialto Theatre in Limassol.
Theatre sans animaux is performed in March on the stage of Ion Creangă Theatre, during the Francophone Week - Coup de theatre Festival, an event organized by the French Institute in Bucharest and the French Embassy.
19-26 May, The Farce of Master Pathelin, directed by Cornel Todea, took part to MONDOINSCENA International Theatre Festival for Children, held in Italy, and then was presented in Muro Lucano, Potenza, Montescaglioso, Latronico, Lauria, in Basilicata region. The performance in Italian language achieved a great success and benefited of high interest from the public and press, followed by praiseful reviews.

The premiere of Journey to The West, adaptation by Radu Băieşu of Wu Cheng En's novel, is staged under the direction of Radu Băieşu, set designer Anca Pâslaru.

In May, The Farce of Master Pathelin is performed in German during Sampling Bucharest – Bucharest Days in Vienna event.
6-13 October, takes place the third edition of the International Theatre Festival for Children 100, 1000, 1.000.000 stories; the performance The Little Tiger who loved pancakes, directed by Cornelius Păvăloi, set designer Anca Pâslaru, receives the award for Set and Costume Design.
The premiere of Four of us, papercuts by Erhard Schmied (translated by Victor Scoradeţ), directed by Theo Herghelegiu, set designer Dan Titza.

A hundred times Pinocchio!!
On Sunday, March 23rd, was presented, on stage, the 100th performance with Pinocchio.
Between 27 and 29 May, Ion Creangă Theatre participated in the event entitled Days of Theatre for Children, held in Cluj Napoca. This event was organized by the UNESCO Department The Theatre and Culture of Civilizations, of the International Theatre Institute and the Students’ Culture Club in Cluj Napoca. Our theatre participated with two performances: Pinocchio and If I Were Red Riding Hood.
ABC Theatre Project
Ion Creangă Theatre has launched this project out of a profound wish to form and promote among children a taste for art in general and for theatre in particular. This theatre workshop has been added to the various existing activities of artistic education that the theatre provides for children up to 12 years old. The project was coordinated by director Magda Bordeianu Brandsdörfer, the founder of Bridge Theatre.

6 March, the official premiere of Seeds-Semi, directed by Valeria Frabetti, script by Valeria Frabetti, Julieana Drăghici and Voicu Hetel, was performed, in Italian, at the 5th edition of the Festival for early childhood (0-6 years) Visioni di futuro, visioni di teatro..., organised in Bologna, Italy, by La Baracca - Testoni Ragazzi.

15-17 April, Pinocchio, by Carlo Collodi, directed by Cornel Todea, set designer Viaceslav Vutcariov, takes part in the International Theatre Festival for Children Naj, Naj, Naj, held in Zagreb, Croatia, and receives the award for Best Actress in a Leading Part, for Ani Creţu in the role of Pinocchio.
29 April, premiere of the performance The story of the child that saved all stories, by Ştefan Mitroi, directed by Constantin Dicu, set designer Delia Ionescu.
5-7 May, Pinocchio, by Carlo Collodi, directed by Cornel Todea, set designer Viaceslav Vutcariov, takes part in the International Theatre Festival for Children Magic Curtain, held in Targovishte, Bulgaria, and receives the award for Best Performance.
3-10 October, the 5th edition of the International Theatre Festival for Children 100, 1000, 1000.000 stories took place.
10 October, the premiere of the performance A Wolf, a Goat and its three Kids, by Monica Patriciu, after Ion Creangă, directed by Cornel Todea, set designer Viaceslav Vutcariov.
31 October, due to the decision of the public authority (District 1 Town Hall) that administrates the buliding in 13 Amzei Square to start the process of reinforcing the resistence structure of the building, Ion Creangă Theatre presented, for 6 months, its performances at the Gloria Cinema, 6 Bucovina Street.
20 October-1 November, Seeds-Semi took part in the Festival Semanas Internacionales de Teatro Para Niñas y Niños, held in Spain. 11 shows have been presented, in Spanish, in different locations (theatres and kindergartens) from the two hosting cities:Coruña and Madrid.
4-21 December, the performance Colourful Baloons was presented, in Japanese, at the Danube Theatre Festival for Children and Youth, held in Japan.
22-26 April, the performance Seeds-Semi takes part in the 14th edition of the International Theatre Festival for New Generations Giocateatro, organized by Fondazione Onlus, Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani , in Torino, Italy. The Festival hosted productions and coproductions, for all age groups, from the youngest children to adults, from 8 countries: Spain, Belgium, Romania, Israel, Sweeden, France, Germany and Portugal.
5-7 May, the performance Seeds-Semi takes part in the 5th ASSITEJ (International Association of theatres for children and young people) Biennale, organized by Kolibri Theatre for Children and Youth, in Budapest, at Kaposvar, Hungary.
Starting with the 22nd of May, Ion Creangă Theatre presents its performances, temporarily, at the Rapsodia Hall, Lipscani street, nr.53.
18th June, premiere of the performance White and Black. Script, direction and musical arrangements: Nicoleta Rusu, Voicu Hetel, Daniela Mişcov.
2-9 October - the 6th edition of the International Theatre Festival for Children 100, 1.000, 1.000.000 stories. Ion Creangă Theatre was granted the Special Jury Award , for its complex program dedicated to performances for children under three years of age - for the Early Education program.
